Of Summerlin's Five Events on October 10, Only Two Are One-Night Only

October 8, 2026

Five events are scheduled in and around Downtown Summerlin on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Las Vegas Farmers Market sets up at The Pavilion. The 30th Summerlin Festival of Arts fills The Lawn. Tacos & Tequila takes over Las Vegas Ballpark. The Parade of Mischief goes down Park Centre Drive at 6 p.m., and half an hour later the Bureau of Land Management starts a Star Party at the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center. Three of the five come back on other days this month. The Tacos & Tequila Festival and the Star Party do not. Plan the day around those two and the other three fit around them.

Which Events Have Other Dates

The schedule looks packed until you check each event's other dates.

Event Oct. 10 hours Other dates Entry
Las Vegas Farmers Market, The Pavilion 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every Saturday Free
Summerlin Festival of Arts, The Lawn 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 9 and Oct. 11, same hours Free
Tacos & Tequila, Las Vegas Ballpark VIP 1:30 p.m., GA 2 p.m. None Ticketed, 21+
Parade of Mischief, Park Centre Drive 6 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24 Free
Star Party, Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center 6:30 to 9 p.m. None Free program, registration encouraged

The farmers market runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Pavilion. The Festival of Arts runs Friday through Sunday, Oct. 9 to 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, so Saturday is one of three days to go. The Parade of Mischief has eight nights in all. Four remain after Saturday: Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24. Downtown Summerlin's announcement says there are no performances on Oct. 30 or 31.

That leaves two events that only happen on Oct. 10. The Tacos & Tequila Festival lists Oct. 10 as its only Las Vegas date, at Las Vegas Ballpark. Red Rock Canyon lists the Star Party for Saturday, Oct. 10 only, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Morning: Market and Art Before the Ballpark Opens

Both morning events start at 9 a.m., and both are done before the evening programs begin. You can walk between them in Downtown Summerlin. The market closes at 2 p.m., the same time general admission opens at the Ballpark.

This is the 30th Festival of Arts, with more than 100 artists from across the country. It started at Summerlin Centre Community Park and has been held on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin since 2015. The featured artists this year include:

  • Michael Panetta, who makes ocean-inspired glass wall sculptures and has more than two decades of experience
  • Arunas Oslapas, a retired industrial design professor who makes woven metal baskets and "metal quilts" from rusted steel, vintage street signs and other found objects
  • Christopher Roche, who paints large acrylic works in a bold, realistic style
  • Nataniel Stepniewski, a Las Vegas astrophotographer who shoots Southwest landscapes and night skies in a single exposure

Stepniewski's booth connects to the evening. His photos show the kind of dark desert sky the Star Party will look at that night, and the program's partners say protecting those skies is part of their work. Admission to the festival is free. Since it also runs Friday and Sunday, a household can skip Saturday entirely and still see every booth.

Afternoon: The Ballpark's Event

The Ballpark is the only part of the day with tickets, an age limit and security screening. According to Vegas4Locals' event listing, VIP entry starts at 1:30 p.m. and general admission at 2 p.m. The organizer posts set times on its Las Vegas page and says the lineup, set times and parking map can change. The organizer lists a throwback hip-hop and R&B lineup that includes T.I., Fat Joe and Pretty Ricky. Its Oct. 1 ticket page said prices would go up on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

What to know before going:

  1. Age and ID. The festival is 21 and over. The organizer's ticket terms say guests and their belongings may be searched and IDs may be checked.
  2. Food and water. No outside food or drink is allowed except one factory-sealed bottle of water up to one liter.
  3. Bags. The Ballpark's general policy allows bags up to 16 by 16 by 8 inches and does not allow backpacks. The festival terms say an event can set its own bag policy, and Vegas4Locals describes a stricter clear-bag rule, so check with the organizer before you pack.
  4. Parking. The Aviators' game-day guide says fan parking is free in the east lot off Spruce Goose Street, with overflow in the west-side surface lots, and estimates more than 2,500 spaces. That guide covers baseball games. For this festival, the organizer says parking passes have to be bought online, offers General Admission and Preferred Parking, and encourages carpooling or rideshare.
  5. Rideshare. The Ballpark guide sends post-event rideshare pickups to Dining Arroyo in Downtown Summerlin.

There are no Aviators games scheduled in October, and the Ballpark's events calendar lists Tacos & Tequila as its only event the weekend of Oct. 9 to 11.

A New Restaurant Near the Ballpark, and One That Closed

Downtown Summerlin's restaurants changed in the two weeks before this weekend. Finney's Crafthouse opened at 10955 Oval Park Drive on Monday, Sept. 21, near Las Vegas Ballpark. It is the first location outside California for a family-owned chain run by twin brothers Greg and Brad Finefrock, which has 16 locations in Southern California. The restaurant seats 245 in 5,395 square feet indoors, plus a 2,434-square-foot dog-friendly patio. It has 20 HDTVs, 30 rotating craft beers on tap, and zero-proof drinks such as the Smoke & Honey. Eater Vegas included it in its Oct. 1 update of new restaurants. The company says a second location is planned for Town Square later this year.

Eight days later, La Neta Cocina y Lounge closed at 1770 Festival Plaza Drive, Suite 200, after five years. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the restaurant was known for modern takes on Mexican dishes and a large tequila collection. Its closing statement thanked its team and customers for "Brunches, dinners and some pretty wild parties." If your family went there for dinner before the parade, you'll need another spot this year.

Finney's schedule fits the parade. Families coming downtown for the 6 p.m. start can eat at a kid-friendly sit-down restaurant a short walk from Park Centre Drive. Fans leaving the Ballpark have a sports tavern nearby. Downtown Summerlin's own parade announcement says the area is built for an evening that combines the parade with dinner at one of its restaurants.

Evening: Picking Between the Parade and the Star Party

The schedule only forces a real choice at 6 p.m. The parade starts on Park Centre Drive at 6, and the Star Party starts inside Red Rock's Scenic Loop at 6:30. You can't attend both on Saturday.

"It wouldn't feel like the Halloween season without Parade of Mischief." Halee Harczynski, Senior Marketing Director for Downtown Summerlin

This is the parade's eighth year. Universal Horror Unleashed presents it and BESTAgency produces it. More than 60 local young people perform alongside floats inspired by Wicked, Hocus Pocus, Cruella, The Addams Family and Día de los Muertos. Saturday's parade is one of eight, and four more are scheduled after it.

The Star Party happens once. College of Southern Nevada astronomer Matthias Schmitt will talk about UFO claims, how Hollywood portrays extraterrestrial life, and the Drake Equation. After the talk there is stargazing, a constellation tour and telescope viewing. BLM rangers will be there with partners including Friends of Red Rock Canyon, Southern Nevada Conservancy and Save Red Rock. The program has no age limit. Registration is encouraged through Save Red Rock.

Driving there takes some planning. The program is free, but it takes place at the Visitor Center inside the Scenic Loop Drive. Recreation.gov says timed-entry reservations for Scenic Drive are required from Oct. 1 through May 31 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. It lists Scenic Drive's October hours as 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and a fee of $20 per personal vehicle. The Star Party runs until 9 p.m., two hours after the posted closing time. Call the program line at 702-515-5367 to ask how entry and exit work that night.

Here is the full Saturday if you build it around the two one-night events. Start at the farmers market and the art festival in the morning. Go to the Ballpark in the afternoon if you have tickets. In the evening, drive out to Red Rock. Then take the family to the parade on Oct. 16, 17, 23 or 24. Red Rock's Tarantula Trek on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. is a free 1.5-mile hike that requires advance registration but not Scenic Drive entry.
