MacDonald Ranch in Henderson, NV, is a large, established master-planned community (MPC). Spanning over 3,200 acres, it is a massive residential development that is itself composed of several highly structured and distinct sub-communities, often referred to as villages or neighborhoods.
 
The four main foundational "villages" or sub-master plans under the MacDonald Ranch umbrella are:
 
  1. MacDonald Highlands | Ultra-Luxury, Guard-Gated custom and semi-custom homes. Home to the DragonRidge Country Club and golf course. This is the most exclusive section.
  2. Sun City MacDonald Ranch | Age-Restricted (55+), Master-Planned Community built by Del Webb. Features the Desert Willow Golf Course and a large clubhouse.
  3. Sunridge at MacDonald Ranch | A large, traditional, family-friendly area with a mix of production and custom homes. It contains many smaller, gated, and non-gated neighborhoods.
  4. The Canyons | A newer section that includes several mid-to-high-end gated and non-gated subdivisions.
Foothills at MacDonald Ranch | This name is often used interchangeably with "The Canyons" or is the term for the luxury custom estates near the foothills, especially those not within the MacDonald Highlands gates.
